I am looking forward to another fabulous year teaching Transitional Kindergarten! I can’t wait to get to know my incoming TK students and their families, and for the many memories that are yet to come!  I strive to ensure that all my students are successful. I take pride in designing a classroom environment to be inviting, safe, nurturing and fun to support student learning and our school rules: Being Responsible, Respectful, Safe, and Resourceful. We are Otters and Otters Rise!

I live in Lincoln with my husband of 26 years and we are blessed with 3 wonderful children. Our 25-year-old daughter and son in law have blessed us with a beautiful granddaughter who is now 2 years old. Our daughter is a successful Service Advisor in the car industry as her husband is an Electrician and in the process of building a moving/towing business. Our two 21-year-old sons are busy continuing the next chapter in their lives. One is entering his 3rd year of college, majoring in Physics and Astronomy (his goal is to be an Astrophysicist and be the first in the family to earn a PhD), and our other son is working hard as a Salesman in the furniture industry and is one of the top ten salesmen in greater Sacramento area. We are so proud of all our children! My husband and I love spending time with our family and friends. We soak up every minute we get with our granddaughter too! We also enjoy concerts, hiking, paddle boarding, traveling or just having a weekend getaway.

I received my B.A. in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Child Development from California State University, Sacramento.  I then continued my education at Chapman University and received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.  I have worked with children of all ages for the past 27 years.  This will be my 12th year teaching with the Rocklin Academy Family of Schools (RAFOS). In Fall of 2020, I was one of the founding teachers in opening our new campus, American River Collegiate Academy (ARCA), and continue to be involved with the growth/expansion of our new campus and welcoming our new families and students with open arms. We have an amazing staff, and this experience has truly been amazing! During these years with RAFOS, I have had the honor to teach 2nd grade and Kindergarten. I had also taken the role for 4 years as the lead teacher, with a strong team, in designing the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) for our RA Turnstone campus in Rocklin. Most recently, I was nominated as Teacher of the Year for 2024, so exciting and such an honor!

This is going to be a great year in Transitional Kindergarten!
